Beaver Creek was recently awarded the 2009 National Ski Area Association Best Overall Safety Award. This is something the resort should be very proud of. Every time you ski it’s a risk, and it’s nice to see that Beaver Creek is being proactive in protecting its clients. Personally, I visited a Beaver Creek ski shop at the beginning of the year and bought a helmet. I never ski without it. I also urge all our Beaver Creek ski rental customers to use one. It’s the least you can do to protect yourself. Furthermore, I stopped listening to music while skiing. I found it distracting and dangerous as I was less aware of my surroundings. Accidents happen, but if everyone is careful, we can all limit problems.
