If you learn nothing else while living in Beaver Creek, you learn how to drive in the snow. The snow clearing by the town is definitely good, but there will of course be plenty of times when the roads are dicey. You learn quickly that 4 wheel drive does not mean 4 wheel stop, that even if you’re careful, the guy next to you might not be. For visitors not used to these conditions, it could be worth it to not have a car. There is plenty of slopeside lodging and free shuttles to the mountain. There is also grocery delivery, ski rental delivery and airport shuttles and taxis. You really have the ability to make your stay as convenient as possible.
