Saturday September 12th will mark the 3rd annual Potatopalooza in Eagle Colorado. With the town of Eagle’s history being rooted in potato farming, it is no surprise they really like their potatoes. The Palooza kicks off at 10 a.m. with couch potato racing. Just when you thought you would never win at anything sitting on the couch you realize you were wrong. All you have to do is sit their and hope your friends are fast as they run and push you in your couch which is on wheels. This will be followed by a potato car derby and a potato cook off. This all sounds good and fun but it is missing one thing….booze. Good thing they can make vodka out of potatoes, this delicious treat will be served all day. What would a Palooza be without a band? It would be just a bunch of people eating and drinking potatoes. Good thing The Samples (a Boulder-based rock band that gained fame in the 90’s) will be playing at 7 p.m. to bring a long day of potato, eating, drinking and racing to a close. Everyone from the Vail Ski Shop will be there.
